WMYA 5 – Verdi Requiem

We’re featuring the complete performance of the Verdi Requiem on this week’s WMYA podcast. This performance was recorded live at the Civic Opera House in Chicago, Illinois, and featured the talents of the following ensembles and soloists:
- MYA Symphony Orchestra and Chorale
- Northwestern University Chorus
- University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana Chorus
- Nancy Pifer, Soprano
- Stacy Eckert, Mezzo-Soprano
- Noah Stewart, Tenor
- Charles Robert Austin, Bass

This is a great performance of the Verdi Requiem. It was so exciting to be there in person at the Opera House, but the recording is even better in some ways. Thanks for making it available. The MYA Orchestra players are very priviledged to be a part of something of this high quality.

This concert was the most amazing concert I have ever sang in, it just gave me chills! Even my 9year old brother loved it and he said he didn’t like classical music. This was definately an experience I will not forget.MYA rox!

Ok, this was great. I am so happy to have participated in the whole thing. My piano teacher went and was amazed at how professional the performance was. This is a day I will never forget!!!
